What is a QR Code?
QR code stands for a quick response code. It was originally
created for industrial use, but has quickly spread due to the advancement of
smartphones and how people want a quick response. Used on everything from
Cereal boxes to television adds QR codes are a great way to advertise any item
that you wish people to see.
How to Generate
This is short video about what a QR code is and how to
generate. The assignment however I’m sure doesn’t call for us to post a video,
so I am just exploring what all a blog can do.
To generate a QR code you need to do an internet search for
a QR code generator. Once you get to the specific generator of your choosing
you can then plug in all the information that you want to show whenever you
scan the QR Code, such things as an instant message or a specific URL.
How to Track a QR Code
QR codes are easiest tracked through apps that you can
purchase from your smartphone providers app store, such as the Android market
or Iphone app stores. However I did discover that you can actually break these
QR codes down without using your phone if you don’t have the luxury of owning a
smartphone. You can download the QR Reader from the Google Chrome store and
whenever you come across a QR code all you have to do is right click the code
and select read QR code from image. I was unable to find if the QR codes can be
broken down manually or not however so either smartphone or computer would be
the best options to use.
Why Use a QR Code
As stated earlier in this blog QR codes can be great
advertisement tools to use upon trying to get your specific business out to the
public to generate additional business. Other than advertisement however QR
Codes originally started in business to quickly scan stock to either locate or
audit an inventory. Now one of the most known uses that I have found is to be
able to scan grocery items, or any item of your choosing that supplies a QR
code, and find the best price and where to purchase that item.
